Concept car time...

Those Dodge designers have it pretty good of late. They get told to revitalise past 'hero' cars, so all they do is drag out the original, remove some chrome (optional), put some bigger wheels on and smooth out the panels.


A very good example of this is the new Dodge Challenger, based on the 1971 car of the same name. Compare the above photo with the 1971 version below...

But I like the look of all those "new" retro american cars.

I think Chrysler kicked off the trend being first to market with a relatively cheap retro car, that is also usable: the PT Cruiser.

Granted, I probably wouldn't buy anything made in America, but they look purrdy.

The PT Cruiser usable? With an old shitty 2 litre motor that couldn't pull the skin off cold custard and even older 3-speed automatic as standard fitment, it should have stayed in the early 70s.
