I hate Dr. Phil. If ever there was a more manufactured talk show host than Dr. Phil, I have yet to see it.
At least Jerry Springer and Maury Povich are pretty up front about the show they produce. We know that half of all Jerry's guests are actors, and the other half high class trailer trash.
Dr Phil's guests, on the other hand, are supposedly real and he offers his solutions on what they should do to fix their lives. It seems to resonate with his target audience. What is Dr Phil's target audience you ask? The same as Oprah's audience: female, probably a fan of 'Grey's Anatomy' and a little heavier than before she had the kids.
I think Dr Phil has found his ratings flagging and needs some controversy to boost the fortunes of his show. The following video is pretty close to proving that correct...
There are a few things wrong with this video:
- If Dr Phil really wanted to not publicise the Bumfight videos, why did he even invite the guy onto the show? I'm sure a lot more people now know about Bumfight than they did before.
- The would have to be the lamest attempt at looking like you were taking the moral high ground. It may work with the stupid women who watch your show, but for the majority of society they can see right through it. I'm sure Dr Phil saw the video before the show and if he was so pissed off about, why did it even get broadcast?
- Even before Dr Phil said "Stop the tape", the tape had already stopped with quite a lame static effect.
- Congratulations to Ty for mocking Dr Phil quite well. That haircut was great.
I think I might go download some Bumfight videos...

Freedom is under attack. Under attack by hysterical and well funded Christian psychotics, intellectually undernourished leaders who lie and manipulate information, overfed Baby Huey coward bitch motherfuckers like Karl Rove and their suck up weakling apologists like Sean Hannity. To question authority is to be somehow unpatriotic, unAmerican and in league with terrorists worldwide?
